Giving Tuesday is December 1, 2020. It is a global generosity movement that unleashes the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. While funds and time and talent help PHSSA grow, PHSSA also benefits from positive mentions on social media (particularly as we apply for grants and reach out to potential donors).

Suggestions for your Social Media Posts:
  • Use the hashtags #GivingTuesdayPHSSA, #GrowingPHSSA, and #plantingacornsgrowingkids
  • Tell your story of PHSSA.  Why you chose it and why your child or children love it. If you are a teacher or staff member, talk about why the school is special to you. Please don’t limit yourself to written words, you can use photos, video, art, or music. Here are some details that make PHSSA different from other schools:
    • Using Forest Hill Park and Reedy Creek as an outdoor classroom
    • Integrated Curriculum and Project Based Learning
    • Year Round Schedule (in non-pandemic years)
    • Small class size
    • Focus on kindness and character building
    • Focus on environmental education and arts
    • RiverRomp
    • Diversity
    • Includes students from all over the city (and provides transportation)
    • Operates on 75% of funding that RPS receives per student
  • Giving Tuesday is a single day, but we are using it as a kickoff to year-end giving
  • If you aren’t using a Facebook Fundraiser, direct contacts to http://www.patrickhenrycharter.org/support-us for details on how to donate.
  • There is no set goal.  Any amount helps!
  • If you have any questions, contact Trevor Worden at Trevor.Worden@patrickhenrycharter.org.

Facebook fundraisers raise funds for PHSSA with no fees! Also, Facebook will match $7 million in donations on Giving Tuesday. The first $2 million are matched at 100%.  The next $5 million are matched at 10%. Matching begins at 8:00 am eastern time on Tuesday, December 1st. In 2019, the match was exhausted in 13.5 seconds.
